Illustration Friday: Float

This week's theme for Illustration Friday is "Float". I had several ideas ranging from Noah's Ark to a float in a parade, but I settled on a mouse, floating down to the ground using a fall leaf as a parachute. I guess I've been inspired of late by the changing of the season. I love fall - always have. I guess my little friend here is jumping into fall feet first - I think I'll join him!

    Hey hey, this is neat!
I love the cutout effect! :)
    Fall's my fave season too,
although we don't get much of that in Singapore...
    Maybe that's why! LOL

I just have to comment on this one...I love fall, too. We had big oak trees in the yard (many of which are now gone), and as a kid, I would try to catch the leaves as they fluttered to the ground. I pretended they were money, and if I could just catch enough, I'd have enough money to go wherever I wanted. Silly kid games.
I love this little mouse, barefoot and grinnin'...

  10. This is precious! He looks so happy and cute! I love the collage effect you create with your white outlines...it's a very "signature" style for you! My BF was cleaning up his motorcycle to sell (whew!) and found that a little mouse had made its home in the storage compartment under the seat. He said the poor thing was trembling all over and his little eyes were bugged out. Then it just up and dashed away... I hope he had as good a landing as your little guy!

As always, you have such a sweet nature about you and all that you draw. I love it so much and it makes me think of childhood and make-believe and wondering if there were little people on this earth who would float in those leaves down the rain-filled gutters to safety. Happy the little mouse is making it to safety as well.
