Illustration Friday: Broken

Beauty from Brokenness
No matter how big of a mess I might make of my life, there is One who is faithful to pick up the pieces and make something beautiful from my brokenness.

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18

"...he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. For the LORD has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory."
Isaiah 61:3 (New Living Translation)

This is dedicated to my dear friend N, who knows a thing or two about brokenness and the beauty that can come of it when we give Him the pieces.

Wow, Twinks, it's beautiful! Great colors and detail. How incredible to think that He just might make something beautiful out of my mess, too - yep, it's that redeemed from the pit thing! Snatched, yes...but also redeemed.

  16. Y'know, I've never seen Painter better used to produce a wholly convincing image - I thought you really had smashed plates to make this! And it would all be nothing without a strong concept and yours is brilliant! Top points for concept and execution all round, particularly the distribution of surface colour and texture - terrific!
